Poetry

Wordsworth said that "poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings; it takes its origins from emotions recollected in tranquility" (Preface to Lyrical Ballads). Have you found that to be the case? Does the poetry you write come to you spontaneously, or do you have to work at it?

For me, it's a combination. I will randomly write stuff, but if it's really important to me, it's worth taking time to make it flow right.
