Warm and Fuzzy

11-23-11

Yesterday was a good day. Not that today wasn't, it's just that yesterday was a particularly good day for warm fuzzies. The people who gave them probably don't know how much it means for them to have told me those things, but I'm awfully glad they did.

First off, a person whose opinion on my writing and such I really value told me that he thinks I'm a good writer and that he's glad that I'm a part of the English department.

Second, I was told by another teacher that I was brought up in conversations she had with people at the conference she was at because apparently I've been doing original research on a question that no one has previously studied. The fact that she mentioned me to professionals is sort of staggering.

Third, I got 100% on my infographic. I mean, the teacher graded via rubric, and the scores of 10-12 constituted an A. So, I'm assuming that my 12 translates to 100%. Anyway.

Fourth, I had signed up to go to the free Thanksgiving dinner provided by Southern, but when I was working last night, Mrs. Herod and Mrs. Ball asked me if I had a place to go. I told them that I had signed up for the dinner, and they said to unsign up because I would be going to one of their houses. Since Mrs. Herod had previously told me to tell her if I needed to go to someone's house, I chose her house tomorrow. Then she also insisted that she drive me home from Brock because it was supposed to thunderstorm. The very fact that they care makes me feel warm and fuzzy, especially since I'm just a minor in the department.

And I have lots of projects to work on and what not, but have I worked on them yet? No. I have to spend at least one day feeling a bit lazy during break. Anyway, a good day today as well. I re-read The Hunger Games (just as good as the first time), ate at Taco Bell, hung out with Janelle (good conversation), watched a movie and rearranged my room. I also cleaned out my desk drawer, which has been badly needing cleaning for about a month.

More later.
