Trees and Plots and People

12-9-11

Very fiction-y.

She'd never met anyone outside of her major who would intelligently discuss books and movies and music with her before, let alone about the fantasies and sci-fi that she liked the most. That he liked the most. That they both liked.

She'd just wanted to say hello--that's the whole point of hanging back after a meeting, right? To see people whom one hasn't seen all week? Right? Right. Anyway, what she'd thought would be a five minute conversation (if that) had turned into at least half an hour, if not longer.

Did that mean anything? Probably not.

But it was definitely something to build a better friendship off of. And that could mean something, eventually, if planted and watered and taken care of like the trees in Fangorn. If the plot developed, like in a story or a movie.  It probably wouldn't, but that didn't mean that all possibility was out of the moment.

And why had she kept tucking her hair behind her ear? She'd only realized she'd done so after getting back to her apartment. Great. Talk intelligently, act stupid. Maybe he hadn't noticed. At least she hadn't twirled her hair--not to her knowledge, anyway.

Life was certainly an adventure, wasn't it? She'd just have to trust God, be herself, and see where the road outside her door led to. It just might...sweep her off her feet, and she was growing acquainted with that concept.

Not very well written, to be sure. But I didn't write it to have written well; I wrote it to get it out of my head so I can go to bed before midnight. Just saying. Have fun commenting. More later.
