Why I'm Going to Continue Blogging

I sort of got hooked on it while being a student missionary, and, whether people read it or not, I'm going to write and post, post and write, whatever.

I learned a lot of things while on Ebeye, and I'm trying to put those things into action. I want to live life, not just be a spectator in it. A long time ago I heard a quote from Jack London: "It is so much easier to live placidly and complacently. Of course, to live placidly and complacently is to not live at all." Thus, the address of this blog. I don't want to just exist, I want to live. Thus, this blog.

One of my favorite quotes from the Lord of the Rings is as follows:

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

To me, the Road is life--and I am not just going to stand on the side of the road and be content to stay where I am. I'm going to travel it!! I don't know what lies ahead, but I do know that it's going to be an adventure. I hope you join me for it. (Or not. Whatever. I don't have to have readers of this blog in order to keep blogging. But I do prefer having readers.)

Living life,

Ashlee
