Reprisal: A Thanksgiving Tree

11-18-12

So, this is a thing we did today. It was actually quite warm outside. It's a reprisal of this, done by the estimable Curtis and Robby like five years ago.

I had lots of fun, especially since I was singing. That's not normally something I do with people, on camera. I'm very insecure about how I sound.

Anyway, it's a thing.

(P.S. This was also my 250th post. Epic.)

Giving Thanks

11/25/10

Today is Thanksgiving, and I'm thankful for lots of things (even if it sometimes doesn't seem like it).

I'm thankful for sunshine, smiles, and time spent with friends. I'm thankful for my family and for teachers who open their homes so I can have a Thanksgiving dinner with other people. I'm thankful that I have an apartment to live in, feet to walk with, food to eat, the ability to read and write, a computer, and the Internet. I can see, I can hear, I can think. I am greatly blessed, and these things that I've just listed is what came off the top of my head. I'm sure there's more that I'm thankful for.

Currently I'm listening to Jeremy Camp's "My Desire" over and over again. (If you've never heard it, watch this.) It's weird how sometimes a person can listen to a song over and over again and not grow tired of it. My favorite section, the one that's speaking me to right now, is the following: "All my life I have seen / Where you've taken me / Beyond all I have hoped / And there's more left unseen." It's speaking to me because it's a statement of "I known You've led me in the past and will continue to lead me, even if I don't know where I'm going." For me, and the journey as regarding my education/career, etc these last two weeks, it's been a good reminder.

More later.
