Community Service Day

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, Southern cancels classes and sponsors a community service day. Granted, community service takes place during the entire school year, but this is the day where Southern students go out en masse and serve.

I went to the Tri-State Therapeutic Riding Clinic, and I ended up doing data entry for three hours. Other people in my group mucked out stalls, cleaned bathrooms, emptied out water containers, and did all sorts of biggish cleaning projects. I sat on a computer and typed, along with two other people from my group. Still was just as helpful. We set up an Excel document for easier data entry for the various programs they have, and finishing filling in the information for their riders. The people in charge of us were super happy, and the main man even told me, "If you're ever wanting to do more data entry, don't hesitate to come our way!"

We got a lot accomplished in only three or so hours. Definitely worth it.
